Kraven the Hunter First Look Was... Meh | Trailer Reaction

I've kept a cautious ear out for developments on the Kraven the Hunter movie, but given Sony Pictures' spotty record with Spider-Man properties, I've learned not to get too excited for their upcoming releases. While I think Aaron Taylor Johnson could do a decent job as Kraven, I was more concerned with the overall treatment this significant member of Spidey's rogues gallery would receive. What audiences have received now is a preview of a film that looks decently exciting in some places, and woefully uncertain in others.

I'll be honest, it's hard not to compare this trailer to what we saw in the lead-up to Morbius. I hope for better, but I'm still apprehensive.

I'm aware that this film has now been delayed until August of 2024, and so some of my commentary may be invalid or otherwise affected by this delay. As to what I think of the delay itself... well, that might be a subject for another video.
