MSFS 2024 VR: The Setup Nobody Explains (Quest 3). Intro to Virtual Reality.

Virtual reality in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 should be incredible — but for many people, it’s confusing, unstable, and frustrating.

Over Christmas I finally sat down and worked through it properly, from crashes and black bars to blurry cockpits and GPU warnings. This video isn’t a benchmark or a “best settings” list — it’s what actually worked for me using a Quest 3 and PC-VR.

OpenXR Toolkit (important note)
I mention OpenXR because it’s widely recommended - but in my setup:
Running OpenXR Toolkit in the background conflicted with Virtual Desktop and caused instability. (Most likely my approach - it looks like a great tool but be aware of asking OpenXR to layer over what Remote Desktop can do you you already). I will return to this later.

If you’re using Virtual Desktop, I recommend:
Let Virtual Desktop handle resolution and reprojection
