A film about one of Jamaica's premium rally events of yesteryear...the Carreras Rally of 1971. This started of at the National Stadium in Kingston and drivers followed speed regulated stages, and encountered surprise time control points. It was notable for the very heavy rain towards the end of the event. Please bear in mind that some of the attitudes expressed within are of the period, and this is shown complete, as found (which was as pre-print negative optic and an optic sound 16mm reels)
The results were:
1. Brain Culcheth/Johnstone Syer/John Dawson (Triumph 2.5 P.I.)
2. Andrew Cowan/J. Ramsden/M. Henry (B.M.W. 2002)
3. Dave Panton/R. Weston/D. Trendell (Volvo 144S)
Unfortunately no credits appear at all in this except that "It is brought to you be Carreras" at the end...I am guessing that the cigarette manufacturer of that name may have been the sponsor.
