The high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) internals should be the first modification done on any MZR 2.3L engine. Increasing airflow and performance without also increasing fuel pressure to the fuel injectors results in a lean running engine that eventually causes engine failure.
This HPFP install method is the exact same for the CX-7, Mazdaspeed3, and Mazdaspeed6.
