External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, speaking at the International Conference on 50 Years of the Biological Weapons Convention, warned that fragile healthcare, weak surveillance, limited labs, slow emergency response, and unequal vaccine access in many Global South nations pose major global security risks. He emphasized that uneven biosecurity compromises worldwide safety and stressed that the Global South has much to contribute to strengthening biosecurity. India reaffirms its full commitment to the effective implementation of the BWC.
