A quick introduction to contract management that should not be an introduction.
Contract management is something which should not be an afterthought of procurement, however it's focus during each of the stages.
Often procurement and contract management are seen as two disparate functions; one to get the best solution and the other to manage the solution, however the two functions are symbiotic; effective procurement allows contract management to operate as does effective contract management allows the sourced value to be realised.
The starting point of procurement should be the consideration of the outcome, how the contract will be managed. This ideology should flow into each stage of the procurement process.
Procurement starts and ends with contract management.
