Music from the final main story dungeon in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky, arranged for solo piano.
Long time coming! This is probably the most famous dungeon theme in Mystery Dungeon history: the final climactic ascent up a decaying, crumbling tower to save the world! The main idea of Temporal Tower is of course the Time Gear theme, fitting since they are what keep the tower standing along with time itself. This also keeps consistent with the use of the Time Gear motif throughout this leg of the story. While Time Gear is a tune in 3/4, Temporal Tower modifies this into common time, following in the footsteps of a few other tracks, namely Dialga's Fight to the Finish. Notably, the Temporal Tower ostinato is an extension of the one in Time Gear, shifted a beat later.
A while back I'd thought of doing an ensemble arrangement for this track, but insaneintherain already has a quite superior rearrangement so I eventually went against it. Then after the popularity of the Hidden Land arrangement, I thought doing a piano cover again for both sections of Temporal Tower would be a good idea. Later I decided that Temporal Spire was distinct enough from Tower to justify splitting the arrangement which is how this ended up being made.
I went through a similar thought process as Hidden Land for this, down to the partner-player relationship I wrote in the description. However I felt like there was a bit more material to work with in Hidden Land, and because I've been burning through most ideas I have with the Time Gear motif recently I didn't really have much to give for this arrangement frankly... Though I made a much more dramatic "final burst of energy" finale where I go crazy with the Main Theme haha
and Synder, use your damn Flamethrower at the Bronzor(!!!), holy shit, it's Steel you'll destroy it instantly like what the f〼 hwhy are you using Swift agai.!?1/!
This is part of my Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers - Re-scored project, otherwise known as PMD: ExR. It's where I attempt to re-arrange all of the music in the Explorers games (and a few extra) in mostly chronological order!
This piece was originally composed by Arata Iiyoshi, Hideki Sakamoto, Keisuke Ito, Ken-ichi Saito and Ryoma Nakamura, and is the 64th track on the Sky Jukebox.
