In this episode of the Eye Care Experts Podcast, Dr. Bell, Dr. Terrezza, and Dr. Sahawneh discuss ocular shingles (herpes zoster ophthalmicus) and herpes simplex, two viral conditions that can cause severe eye pain, redness, light sensitivity, and vision loss if not treated promptly. As we move into colder months when viral infections become more common, the doctors explain key symptoms to watch for, how these conditions are diagnosed, treatment options, vaccine considerations, and when it’s crucial to call your eye doctor. If you’re experiencing eye discomfort or think something may be “stuck” in your eye, this episode offers the guidance you need.
Plus, the team shares year-end eye care reminders—from scheduling comprehensive eye exams to using your FSA/HSA benefits before they expire. (Hint: those funds can even be used for thoughtful holiday gifts!)
