Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Condemns DC’s Remark; Seeks Public Apology
The Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan (ASTBA), Lower Subansiri district unit, has strongly condemned a recent notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) referring to the organisation as a “self-styled association.” Chairman Millo Ambo termed the description inappropriate and demanded a formal public apology from the DC, cautioning that the central team of the Andolan may be compelled to initiate further action if the demand is ignored.
Ambo also disclosed that a man had attempted to offer money to the committee, which the members refused. Following the rejection, the individual allegedly began spreading false claims that the committee had solicited money from him. The chairman dismissed these allegations as baseless and an attempt to tarnish the image of the movement.
Reiterating the Andolan’s objective, Ambo clarified that the organisation is not opposed to any religion. Instead, its efforts are directed towards identifying and preventing illegal construction of religious structures, ensuring that all such activities adhere to legal norms and established procedures.
