How To Install Qwen AI Locally On PC (Step By Step Tutorial) | Qwen 2.5 Installation

In this video, I will show you how to install Qwen 2.5 on your computer. First, go to Ollama website and download their installer that is suitable for your operating system.

In my case, it is Windows. Once downloaded, go ahead and run the installer and follow the installation process.

Now, go to your search bar and type “Command Prompt”. Click on it and your command prompt will pop up. Go ahead and type in “ollama”. If your installation was set up properly, you will see a bunch of ollama commands.

Now, go back to the ollama website and go to the models page. Here, you will see different AI models. Type on the search bar “qwen”. There are different qwen versions here.

The latest version at the time of making this video is Qwen 2.5. Click on it and you can see that it ranges from 0.5 billion to 72 billion. Most computers or laptops can handle the 7 billion version, but I will be installing the 14 billion version.

Now, copy the code here and go back to the command prompt and paste it in there, then hit enter.

The installation process will begin. Upon completion, you can test it out. Type hello to verify that the AI is responding.

Now you can ask questions like you would in ChatGPT. Enjoy exploring Qwen 2.5.

If you want to use Qwen 2.5 next time, just open the command prompt again, then type “ollama run qwen2.5 semicolon 14b”, or the version you downloaded after the semicolon.
