How to perform a Buhnerˋs suture

This video demonstrates the application of a Buhner´s suture in our vaginal suture pad - sheep! Buhner´s suture are a surgical therapy for a vaginal or uterine prolapse in ruminants. After the manual replacement of the prolapsed organs, the vagina is closed by the Buhner´s suture to prevent a renew prolapse. The suture should be placed completely subcutaneous and it is important to avoid an internal perforation of the rectum or vagina. A cotton swab ist placed underneath the bow tie to avoid pressure and allow blood circulation.
