Come along for our first-ever bikepacking trip, exploring 30 miles of the Northern Rail Trail from Concord to Danbury, New Hampshire. This is the longest rail trail in New Hampshire and the second longest completed trail in New England (behind Lamoille Valley in VT). The trail is flat, very straight, and hard packed stone dust through Danbury.
We started our biking adventure at the Hannah Dustin Memorial Statue near Concord. There is overnight parking nearby at the Boscawen Park & Ride, where we saw several other vehicles with bike racks: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tiHSiGRt9h5LR...
We stopped in West Franklin at Downtown Crepes, which had delicious sweet and savory crepes. But I was a bit shaken by the stopover experience after seeing many cop cars at some kind of active scene and a bullet hole through a storefront window.
Nonetheless, the rest of the journey was awesome, and only sometimes did we notice the weight of our heavy panniers.
We stayed at a HipCamp in Danbury and had dinner and breakfast the next morning at the Danbury Country Store, right off the trail.
What do you think of the video and/or this ride? I didn't capture much of the camping content or bikepacking set up - let me know if you'd want to see more of this in the future. Thanks for watching!
