Veteran Musician and Juju Music Legend, CHIEF COMMANDER EVANGELIST (PROF.) EBENEZER OBEY FABIYI (MFR) received an overwhelming show of love from friends, family members, colleagues and other well-wishers penultimate THURSDAY morning of April 3rd, Year 2025 when he turned 83 Years on earth.

Former Nigerian President & Commander-In-Chief, CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO GCFR led cream de la cream of the society to the Musician turned Evangelist’s Decross Gospel Mission International Church (Headquarters of Praise) at Mulero area of Agege for a Special Thanks Service spiced with Praise Worship and banter.

Guests from all walks of life paid pleasant tributes to the celebrant eulogizing the credibility of Evangelist Obey’s music in 68 years of professionalism, describing it as an impactful global career with ever green signature tunes from the early 60s down to the millennium year 2000.

PRESIDENT OBASANJO described OBEY who is fondly called “Chief Commander” as a vital force in the blossoming Nigerian musical industry since he started out at age 15, bringing a fusion of juju and highlife into his musical band called “International Brothers” which he established in 1964 and later metamorphosed to “International Reformers” in the 70s.

The 83RD Birthday celebration of Professor Ebenezer OBEY came with a fusion of class and panache as friends and family of DECROSS INTERNATIONAL CHURCH gave a resounding Praise Worship service to honor GOD for the life of the celebrant, thanking God for a life well spent in the service of God for the benefit of humanity.

Eminent Nigerians like Oba Adedapo Tejuosho the Osile of Oke Ona Egba and his amiable Oloris and council of chiefs led other royals, clergies, politicians and diplomats to Mulero to celebrate EBENEZER OBEY @ 83.

Other Top Society Big Wigs like the Agoro of Egba Land, High Chief Doja Adewolu (CFR) and wife, Justice Yetunde Adewolu, former Ogun State SSG, Chief Taiwo Adeoluwa, High Chief Abiola Ogundokun, the Obanla of Iwo land and J’agun P’ote of the source (Ile Ife), Juju Music Legend turned Evangelist of Christ, Reverend Idowu Animasahun (Former Juju Apola Music King) who is now a minister of Jesus Christ at Badeku Town, Oyo State and Juju Lambada creator, Prince JIDE CHORD all cancelled their schedule for EBENEZER OBEY's 83rd Year Birthday Celebration and 68 Years as a Global Musician.

Others are ace Broadcaster, Chief Bisi Olatilo of Biscon Communication, Gospel Music Czar Reverend J.A. Adelakun (Baba Ayewa), Veteran Gospel Songbird, Mama Dr. Funmi Aragbaiye and many others too numerous to mention. The Wife of Former President Obasanjo, MAMA BOLA OBASANJO led a cream of women like Senator Folashade Bent to the event. Fuji Music Czar and Olori Omo Oba Akile Ijebui, Chief Wasiu Ayinde was in attendance as Comic Star Teju Baby Face compered the event with others.
