I wanted to see if different brands of paint would make a big difference in your pour paintings.
I chose Liquitex Basics Titanium White and Artist Loft Soft Body Acrylic as the two base paints and mixed both with water only.
I then mixed one batch of colors with water only, and another batch using a medium of house paint, floetrol and polycrylic. For the medium recipe, check out this video: • Step by Step Acrylic Pour Painting Tutorial
Colors used:
• Bright Aqua Green by Liquitex Basics
• Iridescent Blue Green by Pebeo
• A mix of Raw Sienna and Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue by Liquitex Basics
• Burnt Sienna by Liquitex Basica
• A mix of Phthalocyanine Blue, Phthalocyanine Green and Mars Black by Liquitex Basics
In conclusion, yes…. The base coat brand makes a difference. But there’s no right or wrong way! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😀
