As if / As though သုံးပုံသုံးနည်း
1. Present / Future Unreal Situation

👉 အမှန်မဟုတ်ဘဲ စိတ်ထင်မြင်သလို ပြောတဲ့အခါ။

ပုံစံ

S + V (present / past) + as if / as though + S + V2

📌 Present (သို့) Past နှစ်မျိုးစလုံး သုံးလို့ရတယ်။
📌 Future အတွက်ဆိုရင် Time phrase (tomorrow, next week …) ထည့်ပေးရမယ်။

Examples

He talks as if he knew everything. (actually he doesn’t)

She acts as though she was the manager. (she is not the manager)

You speak as if you were a teacher. (you are not a teacher)

He spoke to me as if I would never see him again. (future unreal idea)

2. Past Unreal Situation

👉 အတိတ်မှာ မဖြစ်ခဲ့တဲ့ အရာကို စိတ်ထင်သော်လည်း ပြောချင်တဲ့အခါ။

ပုံစံ

S + V (past) + as if / as though + S + had + V3

Examples

He looked as if he had seen a ghost. (he hadn’t really)

She behaved as though she had won the lottery. (she didn’t win)

You sounded as if you had been crying. (you weren’t really crying)

3. Real Situation

👉 အမှန်တကယ် ဖြစ်နိုင်သည့် သဘောကို ခန့်မှန်းပြောတဲ့အခါ။

ပုံစံ

S + V (present) + as if / as though + S + V1

Examples

It looks as if it is going to rain. (likely real)

He seems as though he knows the answer.

She looks as if she feels sick.

✨ ချုပ်ချုပ်စုပြောရမယ်ဆိုရင် –

V2 / were = Present or Future Unreal (အမှန်မဟုတ်တဲ့ စိတ်ထင်သဘော)

Had + V3 = Past Unreal (အတိတ်မဖြစ်ခဲ့တာကို ထင်သလို ပြော)

V1 / is = Real situation (အမှန် ဖြစ်နိုင်တာ / ခန့်မှန်းမှု)
