THSR 700T Direct Train High Speed Operation!! Kaohsiung Zuoying to Taipei

The Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) 700T Bullet Train, Kaohsiung Zuoying Station to Taipei Station!!

This video records the 700T direct train departing from Zuoying Station (starting station) and passing through Tainan Station (台南站), Chiayi Station (嘉義站), Miaoli Station (苗栗站) and Hsinchu Station (新竹站) at high speed.

The Taiwan High Speed Rail system from Taipei Nangang to Kaohsiung Zuoying, and the total length is 348.5 km (216.5 mi). In the future, the system will continue to extend from Nangang Station to Yilan (Yilan City, Yilan County), and will continue to extend from Zuoying Station to Pingtung (Pingtung City, Pingtung County).

At present, the maximum operating speed of the system under normal conditions is 300 km/h. According to the content of contract, the 700T Bullet Train can reach a speed of 315 km/h when making up for the delay, and it can indeed reach the operating speed of 315 km/h when the trial run before the commercial operation of the high speed rail system.
At the same time, the civil engineering design speed of Taiwan High Speed Rail is 350 km/h, such a civil engineering design retains the possibility of increasing the speed of operation in the future.

At present, the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation thinks that the N700S of Japanese Shinkansen is the most suitable vehicle type. If there is no accident, the N700S Bullet Train will replace the 700T Bullet Train in the future.
The 700T Bullet Train cannot reach the civil engineering design speed, However, the N700S Bullet Train will be introduced in the future. Its excellent performance may make Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation further examine whether to increase the operating speed of the system, making it closer to the civil engineering design of 350 km/h speed.
