A trip that made it out of the group chat! Used the 5-day JR East Pass (Tohoku area) with my friends to explore Aomori and Kakunodate, spent a night in a Fukushima onsen inn, before making our way back to Tokyo where I spent one more day before flying back.
We were too early in Aomori and too late in Tokyo, but thankfully just in time in Fukushima to catch the sakura blooms. Here's our itinerary:
0:30 - Arrival/Day 1: Got our JR East 5-day passes (bought from Klook and claimed at their office in Narita) and made our way to Aomori, transferring at Tokyo for the shinkansen line
3:30 - Day 2: A-Factory, Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse, Seafood Rice Bowl market
9:29 - Day 3: Kakunodate day trip
13:54 - Day 4: Fukushima Onsen (Sansuiso inn)
19:22 - Day 5: Checkout of inn and dropped by Hanamiyama Park before heading to Tokyo
for Sakurai Tea Experience
24:37 - Day 6: Met up with friends, shopping in Tokyo
