I tried a couple different genres for this cover, including just doing straight classic rock but with English lyrics. Nothing seemed to feel right. The lyrics of this song speak to a very specific emotion and feeling that is special to a lot of people and I wanted to make sure it was well represented. Ultimately I thought the gospel soul sound and voice captured the yearning feeling of freedom very well.
