After the turbo conversion on my 7MGE, I decided to switch from a distributor ignition to 2JZ/IS300 coils and the stock 7MGTE Igniter.
Easy installation although it does come with some cons. One is modifying the wiring plug and plastic cover on spark plug boot at #3 coil to clear the bottom of throttle body (since I'm still using the 7MGE intake Y-pipe). And the other is the NA tach does not work with 7MGTE electronics; I plan to use a tach adapter from MSD to fix this problem.
Overall, I'm happy with this conversion. Engine seems to run smoother and has a little bit better throttle response.
