This demo shows show to set username and password when calling a SOAP web service that uses Web Services Security (WS-Security, WSS) by OASIS.
Maybe you seen a SOAP header that looks something like this:
soap:Header
wsse:Security xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/0..." xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/0..." soap:mustUnderstand="1"
wsse:UsernameToken wsu:Id="UsernameToken-9469e607-05e2-4315-a25c-94df48e76c81"
wsse:Usernamedemo/wsse:Username
wsse:Password Type="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/0..."abc123/wsse:Password
/wsse:UsernameToken
/wsse:Security
That is the SOAP header of a request to a web service that uses WS-Security in order to force clients to send a username and password in the header to use the service. This video will explain how to handle that on the client side using Apache CXF.
