After waiting out the winter, we come back to the mountain and finish pouring the last of the concrete. We add steel plates to the top of the piers. The plates are welded to the rebar cage inside the piers. Not wanting to heat shock the concrete, a gap is left under the plates and an non-shrink grout fills that gap after the welding is done.
