Understanding where unwanted solids might form in offshore energy production systems, and onshore processing facilities, is critical in ensuring that the operate safely and efficiently. This presentation will explore a new tool to predict the formation of ice-like hydrate solids which has been coupled with a database containing a trove of publicly available data. Combined, this will enable users to understand the availability of data that has been used to tune model predictions at pressures, temperatures, and compositions of interest. In doing so, the uncertainties and safety margins applied to design calculations can be better quantified, and any need for additional experimental data to support model tuning identified.
