Aerith faces the unthinkable — where a daughter’s love meets the silence of a mother’s last breath.
The Trial of Aerith unfolds in Midgar, aboard a cargo train with her fading mother, Ifalna. When the train halts, Ifalna collapses on the platform, leaving Aerith desperately searching for help. She pleads with passersby, only to be ignored and brushed aside, her cries lost in the noise of the city. In her despair, Aerith crosses paths with Elmyra, who follows her back to the scene.
With death closing in, Ifalna grasps Elmyra’s hand, entrusting her daughter’s future to this stranger. As another train screeches into the station, Elmyra carries Aerith away, moments before Shinra arrives to reclaim Ifalna’s body. A life stolen, a bond severed — and a child’s destiny forever changed.
