Fishing Norway - Polarcamp July 2025

Shorter version of the long clip from this summer fishing at Polarcamp, and exploring the nearby Saltfjellet. Boatlife at its best!

Join us on a 2 week of fishing, hiking and boatlife around the fantastic glaciar Saltfjellet / Svartisen, west of Mo i Rana, Helgeland kysten. We trailed our Merry Fisher 625 Gothenburg to Polarcamp where we ramped up and down. Then we boat around in the spectacular fjords of Nordfjord, Melfjord, Glomfjord and others. Amazing views, dolphins, fishing and some snorkling. We also go to the top of the famous Rødøyløva, and the glaciar of Engabreen / Svartisen. Also some snorkling in the shallow canals below Rødøy.
The fishing was difficult near land, in the deep fjords - very few fish was caugt there. So we boated on 2 day trips out to open sea, where we were able to find some nice fish in deeper waters. We fished outside the islands of Bolga and Meløy and Rødøy mainly, some good 40 nm trips one way. It was worth the while to catch some nice halibut, cod, ling, haddock, coalfish and even some Uer (kungsfisk). Always nice to find the fish and fill the quotas.
One day we were caught by heavy fog and had to escape thorugh the thick of it and take refuge in teh harbour of Reipå for a night. Day after cleared and we continued without problems. Was scary to get blared by a large ferry on the waters really nearby though.

As usual tried to get some drone shots from the spectacular surroundings. Some were okey some unfortunately missed and skewed. Regardless totally unbelievable places to drone in.

We were also lucky enough to experience the last of the midnight sun for 2025 out at open sea - fantastic experience!
