EVERYTHING IS ILLUSION – Largescale video installation by Johanna Keimeyer at the World Water Day of UNO at historical and landmarked former swimming pool 'Stadtbad Oderberger' in Berlin.

With the appearance of the title "Everything is Illusion," the water level in the video projection rises so the audience begins to feel they are drowning. Suddenly, Berlin-based artist Johanna Keimeyer walks on the balcony and jumps off the railing into the water, interacting with the video projection. Accompanied by the sound of violins, the audience hears a text questioning what is real and what is illusion. As Keimeyer swims between the columns, now nothing but a black silhouette, more and more swimmers enter the screen until it is totally black.

Immersed in this world of uncertainty and interaction, the work begins to ask potent questions. Are we all individuals or do we connect as one under our banner of humanity? Illusion allows us to better examine our world and the human condition.

Stadtbad Oderberger nowadays has re-opened as Hotel Oderberger, where the artist shows her underwater photography in 80 of the rooms and the spa area. She also did the opening show with her dance performance A NEW DAWN.
