The South African Police Service is holding a memorial service this morning for the five police officers killed at the Ngcobo police station in the Eastern Cape last week. A retired soldier was also killed. High profile politicians are to attend the service at the Ngcobo Methodist Church. National police commissioner, General Khehla Sitole and Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee will be among the mourners.
The community is expected to gather and share in the loss of the families while the slain men will be honoured.
