I'm back with my fourth Ted Lasso vid in a row and second tedbecca one. I'm sorry but these two.. I really can’t believe the hold they have on me after such little time and the fact that they’re not even a couple, I don’t think I’ve ever shipped something this hard that wasn’t canon/could possibly NEVER BECOME CANON?! But no I refuse to believe that they aren’t the ultimate endgame of this show.. I’m about to get into it cause I don’t use any other social media right now and I need to express my feelings, so feel free to stop reading haha.

Ted and Rebecca are soulmates, and I understand platonic soulmates exist but.. I just don’t see them that way. The set up of their story is so inherently romantic to me, and it confuses me to see that some of the fandom don’t want them together.. I don't think we’re watching the same show lol. Just in the Christmas episode alone.. where she's the only one to notice something's wrong with him (as they always do for each other.. GUARDIAN ANGELS AHEM) and she shows up to his house at the exact moment he needs her.. she literally THROWS A PEBBLE at his window?! Seems like romcommunism to me! Then the tinsel sign and just all of their interactions that day. That shit just isn't platonic I dunno what to tell you. There are so many other platonic male/female friendships on tv and on this show SPECIFICALLY, but I hardly ever see love stories between mid-late forty year olds! LET ME HAVE THIS! Also the fact that this season they had very few interactions, if they're such good friends why were they being so distant? It was a deliberate choice to put space between them, because we're in the dark forest AND FAIRYTALES DO NOT START NOR DO THEY END IN THE DARK FOREST. But I love that we as an audience still got glimpses of how connected they were, even when not physically together. SEPTEMBER 13 1991?! Last season we saw Ted signing his divorce papers on the same day that would’ve been Rebecca’s wedding anniversary.. and now we see this second instance of their lives/traumas paralleling each other ON THE SAME EXACT DAY 4,000 MILES APART? What kind of platonic besties does this shit happen to LOL.

Some people saying they can’t get together cause she’s his boss.. ok so I guess you people must also dislike Ben/Leslie, Amy/Jonah, Michael/Holly, so many others.. boss/employee relationships happen so often. To be clear that isn't what I don't like about the Sam/Rebecca thing.. what I dislike about them is the fact that as the owner dating a player it just felt like she had his career in her hands, where he plays, his contract etc. She already proved that she can AND WILL put herself in the way of him taking potential opportunities, I was so mad at her for doing that. Thank god for Sam standing up for himself and staying because it was right for him. But what rubs me the wrong way the most is their 25 year age difference. I personally don’t like age gaps between couples in media or real life tbh, I just don't see how people who are more than like 10 years apart can have much in common. So ya my cut off for couples I ship is 10, maybe absolute max 12 years but that’s about it.
I hate this storyline, how am I meant to believe that NO ONE in Rebecca's life sees how self destructive she's being with this "relationship"? Especially Keeley.. so Rebecca's best friend, who was self aware enough last season to say "I’m almost 30 and still dating 23 year old footballers.. I know that’s weird”, WOULDNT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HER FRIEND WHO IS A LOT OLDER THAN 30 DATING A FOOTBALLER WHO'S 21? Also the one positive she had about John Wingsnight was that he was age appropriate for Rebecca.. shouldn't she see that Sam is not? I’m also confused about whether the writers wanted the audience to be rooting for this couple..we barely know anything they talked about on the app, are told they were together for two weeks but saw none of it, then suddenly Rebecca is acting like he’s the love of her life. Even if I had no problem with the age gap, I still just wouldn’t like them together.. I don’t find them to have chemistry and we’ve hardly seen their relationship develop, it's so weird.

Anyway, I really don't know what I'll do if this whole time I've been so wrong about their relationship and in the end the writers don't make tedbecca a couple.. that'll be embarrassing for me lol. Ugh they're just too perfect not to be together, the amazing friends to lovers potential, they have such a genuine understanding of each other, the fact that they are intrinsically linked and have this soulmate bond, AND that this is all coming later in life after they've both gone through divorce and so many hardships.. THEY JUST DESERVE HAPPINESS AND TO BE LOVED BY EACH OTHER. Fingers crossed for next years truth bomb!
