Darth Talon Comes to Life – Custom 3D Printed Model

The Darth Talon 3D printed build is pushing forward with the lightsaber assembly and wiring process! This update dives into painting, wiring, and fitting the lightsaber while troubleshooting along the way. I started by repainting the blade with Pro Acryl Transparent Red for a richer glow effect, after not being happy with the original paint job. The LED noodle light was reinforced with magnet wire to make it more rigid and distribute the light evenly through the blade.

Threading the wire through the model was one of the most challenging parts of this build. I had to open up keys, remove internal supports, and carefully guide the wire through the legs, torso, and arms without breaking the model. After plenty of frustration and some colorful language, everything finally came together with only a minor dead spot near the tip—something I'll improve on in future builds.

With the lightsaber assembled, I focused on hand-painting the hilt and armor plates using Pro Acryl Coal Black, Dark Silver, and Vallejo Oily Steel for realistic weathering effects. Dry brushing Blue Black and adding a black wash helped bring out the fine details. This build is really starting to come together, and I can't wait to move onto the red skin tones next.
