In what is considered the biggest drug bust in Canadian history, pilot Raymon Bulange was recruited by the Montreal Mafia to smuggle over 4,000 kilos of drugs—worth up to a billion dollars—from Colombia to a remote Canadian airstrip called Casey. A former CIA asset turned cartel pilot, Bulange used a heavily modified Convair 580 plane, evaded U.S. and Canadian surveillance by flying through a brutal North Atlantic storm, and outmaneuvered fighter jets before landing in the Canadian wilderness. Though the mission initially succeeded, authorities were tipped off, leading to the massive seizure and arrests, marking one of the most dramatic and complex drug trafficking cases Canada has ever seen.
