Off Road Trail to Camp ~ Overland Death Valley In a VW Bus ~ Off-roading Adventure

I traveled to Death Valley in a 1958 Volkswagen Bus. This is part two of a three-part outing. Vintage Overland Adventures

I adventured through the famous 20 Mule Team Canyon, Shocked at how amazing it is. Steep downhill section and the zigzag section up, Fun! At the exit, 1/8th mile down was the entrance to Greenwater Valley / Dante's View. Dante's was great, but I didn't wait for that perfect sunset shot. With the heavy winds three days earlier, there was a dusty haze across the valley. So a little shot and added a voice-over chip to block people talking.

Greenwater Valley Road, AKA Furnace Creek Wash Road; Smooth graded road with mild washboards. Aired Down, Didn't fill a thing.
"Escape the Ordinary" Turned off and headed for the mountains. It started sandy to washed-out rough stuff (For a VW Bus). Making it to the campsite, at the famed Patsy Clark Mine.

circa 1880s, Patrick "Patsy" Clark, an Irish Fella made his riches at mining. Patsy Clark Mansion in Spokane, Washington was his home.

The Views didn't stop, Short field trip of the mine, then on to dinner, starving, only chips and a handful of Cheerios, in the last two days. So Eatin and Talkin was the theme. Quickly asleep listening to the crickets chirping.

Hiking day, I woke up in some heavy pain, and I had to walk it off. A little local walk around the mine. Then I went exploring and had to scout the trail. Steep climb, Mines, and at the top views of Death Valley Proper and views forever the other way.

Shower & Breakfast - It was Super nice to wash my hair and take a sponge shower. So after the Eatin & Talkin, I head down the trail. Start with the weird angle and a couple three-wheel sections going down. Exit the video on the Furnace Creek Wash Road.
