As we approached, it wagged its tail and stared at us intently.
Its pitiful eyes made it impossible to just walk away.
We decided to take it into the car.
It naturally found a spot and lay down.
When we briefly stepped out to get some snacks, it looked at us with a face that seemed ready to cry.
After a quick bite, we headed to the vet.
The puppy got a clean shave and vaccinations.
Since that day, it has stuck to us like glue.
How much it must have longed for human affection during that time.
Now, it seems much more at ease, showing no signs of anxiety wherever we go.
We need to make sure its painful past of being abandoned by its previous owner never haunts it again.
