My father Geoff Brown, and brother Gary, I believe first met Phil and Tommy Emmanuel at a concert in Dubbo NSW Australia around 1967. Even then, Phil and Tommy as youngsters were very accomplished musicians and entertainers as part of the Trailblazers band.
At that time, Geoff was 39, Gary 13 at the time, Phil 14 and Tommy 11. Through the years they met up from time to time in various places including the CCMA Jamboree held in Tamworth each January and occasionally at our family home in Tamworth.
Here in January 2011 you see a rare catch up in Tamworth while Phil and Tommy visited to accept their inclusion on the Country Music 'Roll of Renown'. The night before they joined us at a social gathering of our families at the Browns home in Tamworth including a very informal, relaxed, muck-about jam session in the kitchen.
