Lello Bookstore started as a small shop in 1869.
It changed owners several times before the Lello brothers bought it in 1906.
Its Neo-Gothic front and beautiful interior made it stand out.
The Lello brothers wanted their bookstore to be more than just a shop.
They wanted it to be a place for culture, art and imagination.
Some people say that the Lello Bookstore inspired J.K. Rowling
when she was creating the library and staircases at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter books, she lived in Porto in the 1990s.
