Highlights of 2019.

This year I wrote, produced or sang over 100 songs and got to work with great creative minds on all corners of the world. From as far as Faroe Islands to Tokyo and beyond… Here's a little sample of some of them.

I continue to be so grateful for what music brings to my life. The connections, relationships, therapy, hope, love, passion and joy. It’s my constant companion. I have and continue to work really hard to create this life but I still pinch myself that this is what I get to do… dare I say #blessed…

Writing for film/tv and various clients on so many different projects allows me to create country, jazz, pop, trap, hip hop, rock tracks and more… working in different genres is really fun. One of the highlights for me this year has also been writing personal songs for clients. A father to his daughter, a lover to a lover… connecting, healing, all the magic…. I love to facilitate that.

Another pretty special thing I did this year was roll out a music program for children in schools - working with the school curriculum. Music education is really the most important education for a child. It teaches connection, courage, kindness, teamwork, confidence… it shows the little ones that it’s ok to share feelings, to express themselves and show vulnerability… we all need this lesson early on. Music facilitates that for kids and adults…

Next year I have some exciting plans musically and some new releases coming up. My friends over there hear all the songs I’m writing for film and tv as I write them… even the rough demo versions… I share a lot with them monthly. It’s near impossible to market and release a single as an independent artist these days… I want to spend more time creating and less time on ‘promo’… find my songs on   / shelleyharland   or eventually @Spotify or on tv shows :)

I want to thank new companies like @SoundBetter @Vocalizr @AirGigs @syncly and many many more for coming up with creative ways to help artists in the music business…. Where would any of us be without music in our lives? Support it when you can. I also want to thank everyone that I have collaborated with creatively this year. The list is too long, it includes, musicians, actors, producers, facilitators, mixers and so many more. THANK YOU for including me in your creativity.

LEARNINGS 2019

Social media is hard… I want to spend more time creating… it makes me happier. I need to find the balance.
