In this video we identify that the time component of the four force is constrained by the space components (the effective force). We then identify the relativistic power is equivalent to the derivative of the four momentum time component, such that we can identify that the energy corresponds to the time component of the four momentum i.e p^0 = E/c.
We then discuss how this leads to the mass energy relation E = mc^2, where M = m_0 \gamma is the effective mass. In the next video we will derive the full energy momentum relation by considering the normalisation condition of the four velocity when applied to the norm of the four momentum.
