Jeniffer Dake: "Look at Me...Don't Look at Me"
Join Jeniffer Dake for a powerful evening session that challenges believers to understand their identity in Christ and their calling to be participants in God's plan. Drawing from 2 Peter 1:2-8 and the powerful story of Peter healing the lame man in Acts 3, this message explores the tension between boldly stepping out in faith while ensuring all glory goes to God alone.
About the Speaker: Jeniffer Dake brings over 25 years of inspiring audiences nationwide with her candid and humorous speaking approach. With a Master's degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and experience as former adjunct faculty at Taylor University, she combines deep biblical knowledge with practical application and authentic storytelling.
Conference Theme: Kingdom Living: Awaken Hope - This session examines how Kingdom citizens are called to be bold in their faith while remaining humble, understanding that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness through His divine power.
Scripture Focus: 2 Peter 1:2-8 - "His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us..."
Dake powerfully illustrates how Peter transformed from Simon, the denier, to Peter, the bold apostle who could say "rise up and walk" to a man lame for 40 years. Through the story of Peter's restoration by the charcoal fire and his later healing ministry, she demonstrates that our identity in Christ must precede our activity for Christ.
The message includes a passionate call for The Salvation Army to boldly proclaim Jesus alongside meeting human needs, reminding us that people need more than physical provision - they need the hope that only Christ can provide.
Recorded live at Lake Junaluska Conference & Retreat Center, North Carolina, during the 73rd annual Southern Bible Conference hosted by The Salvation Army Southern Territory.
