Nilsagar Express Train:
Nilsagar Express is a popular intercity train of Bangladesh Railway that runs between the capital Dhaka and Chilahati railway station on the border of Nilphamari district in the northern region. It initially ran from Syedpur in Nilphamari to Dhaka Cantonment Station, later extended to Chilahati and Dhaka Kamalapur. It is one of the fast and luxurious trains of Bangladesh.
History:
The Nilsagar Express train was launched on 1 December 2007 on the Syedpur route of Nilphamari from Dhaka by the then caretaker government. [1] Although the train was supposed to run from Chilahati, the train started from Syedpur due to the old railway infrastructure of Syedpur-Chilahati. The train finally started running from Chilahati with the official inauguration on 28 January 2015.
