All musicians know that December is a crazy month: so many concerts and church services, so many groups competing for the best venues and the best dates. As the month wears on, audiences grow tired of endless carols...
So The Free Radicals' Christmas Concert is in early January (still 'Christmas' in the church) when the panic is over, the pressure is off; people are looking forward to some high-quality music in the bleak mid winter. The concert has no carols, just a list of stunning Christmas choral music which we didn't have the chance to perform in December.
