Zpacks Solo Quilt Review | Best Ultralight Backpacking Quilt

Zpacks is know for making some of the best ultralight down quilt sleeping bags out there, and the Zpacks Solo Quilt is no exception. I found the Zpacks Solo Quilt to be one of the best ultralight backpacking quilt options out there when you are looking to shave every ounce. I was able to test the Zpacks Solo Quilt in a number of conditions and took it on many backpacking trips. The Zpacks Solo Quilt is the lightest of the light that I have found (so far anyway), yet still gives you good warmth.

While the Zpacks Solo Quilt isn't the warmest of the quilts I've tested, it is the most compact and lightest weight. This Zpacks Solo Quilt 30f model did a good job of keeping me toasty warm in the field down into the the mid 30's, even when using my Zpacks Altaplex single wall tent. When using a double-wall tent that isn't drafty like the Altiplex, I was able to be comfortable down to about 30 degrees. Pretty impressive for a 14.1oz quilt!

Pair the Zpacks Solo Quilt with one of my favorite mats (the Sea to Summit Ether Light XT or the Exped Synmat UL) and you have an awesome ultralight setup! Better yet, add in the Zpacks Altaplex Tent (15oz) or the Zpacks Duplex Tent(19oz) and you can easily keep your camp setup under 3lbs!
