[TIKTOK 9 - TEST RUN] Bad ∞ End ∞ Night ♪ UTAU + TT VOICE CHANGER

AT LONG LAST I've put this vision into action!

For the past month and a half, I’ve been spending my time making the TikTok voiceover guys into UTAU voicebanks. It was an idea I’ve been wanting to do since back when the feature first came out, and there were only the first two (Jessie and Deep)... but by the time I actually got the feature, there were many, many more.

I chose Bad ∞ End ∞ Night as my song of choice because it’s a childhood favourite, with a lengthy cast list! In this rendition, Jessie is Miku, Deep is Gakupo, Explorer is Rin, Trickster is Len, Angeleno is Gumi, Darling is Luka, Literature is Meiko, Philosopher is Kaito, and Granny is the shadow.
I was originally going to draw them in full, but I couldn’t decide on how they’d look and it was taking too long so for now I just gave each of them simple outfits according to their roles. Enjoy their silly half-heads!

I’m pretty happy with the way the song turned out, and I’m impressed with how smoothly the voices flow! I half credit this to the awesome UST and half credit the fact they aren’t traditional Jinrikis, like what I usually do.
A lot of work went into making these, and I haven’t even used them all yet, so expect more! Eventually!

The method I used while making them, so as to minimize my suffering, was as follows:

I recorded all the samples I wanted to have, one time. Then, I ran it through TikTok and had each voice dub it over, screen recorded the results, converted them to audio on my computer, and re-pitched them through Newtone (The voices can’t sing to save their lives - which is fine, and might have even worked, but they sounded really unsteady so I figured I’d rather be safe than sorry.)
I put each of the audio files into the same Audacity project, lined them up, and split each note in the same spot, in hopes that I would only have to fully .oto once and I could just copy that file, replace the samples and readjust for the rest instead of repeating the process entirely 14 times.

Making them all wasn’t hard, per-sé, but it was very, very repetitive and draining, LOL - and they’re all CV, because that’s the only sort of bank I have experience with, but I suppose if someone wanted to and knew how to they could make any sort of bank out of them!

My full list now is Jessie, Trickster, Philosopher, Explorer, Granny, Literature, Sneaky, Devil’s Advocate, Santa, Deep, Townie, Sorcerer, Angeleno, and Darling. And just this week I found out that TikTok released two more (Cupid and Bae) which… [BOOMING, REVERBERATED SIGH OF EXHAUSTION] I’ll get around to making too, eventually 😭
