I spent the week in Chicago balancing working as a freelancer and homemaking and then escaped to Iowa City for the weekend — and it was exactly what both Blake and I needed.

Date night at Joseph’s, shopping at my go-to spots like Catherine’s and Velvet Coat, and a little Bread Garden grocery haul for good measure. Plus, some much-needed cozy time at home with my dad and grandma and a batch of homemade sourdough cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Saturday morning. Just an easy, honest look at life lately.
