First generation GCN cards are approaching the end of their useful life- DX12 exclusive titles are getting more and more common, and 4GB of VRAM is rapidly becoming the minimum; as a DX11-only, 3GB limited graphics card, the HD 7970 doesn’t cut the mustard in titles like Guardians of the Galaxy, Halo Infinite and Elden Ring. Rather than lament the games it cannot play, though, I'm going to celebrate the modern titles that still run on this classic GPU.
