Hello everyone!
Here's my very first build of that laser cut short kit I acquired from Volare Products. The man running the laser cutter - George produces high quality laser cut sheets The details he can successfully create is impressive, in my experience of quality in the wood model hobby.
Since this is a first build, I'm using the Silkspan brand covering, medium weight tissue, to cover the majority of the airframe parts. Seeing the Fuselage airframe covered, with the LG attached, seems a bit overweight to me, so I will need to finely remove some weight as necessary to keep it inside its intended flying weight.
Easy tip & Trick:
For a lightweight sheeting option, use a matching color sheet of construction paper - not high quality resume paper, and definitely not card stock or thin cardboard.
Cut the paper to size that will sheet the area of the model, and then apply a thin, even coat of finishing resin or lightweight epoxy, and press flat between two sheets of wax paper.
After the cut sheeting piece is flat inside the wax paper "sandwich", place the wax paper in between two plates of flat glass, and let dry for 12-18 hrs. Remove and add to the model, applying it wet or dry.
Thanks for watching everyone, positive feedback is always welcome! :)
Stay tuned for more!!!
Christopher
