Arkansas Sheriff Arrested in Unmarked Patrol Car by Arkansas State Police and FBI

PLEASE READ: This footage was just released on 02/28/2025. Although the former Sheriff pleaded guilty in 2023, the investigation was ongoing and thus the reason for it being held.

On December 3, 2022, Sheriff Jimmy Stephens was arrested on felony complaints of simultaneous possession of drugs and guns.

On December 5, 2022, the FBI confirmed that it had been watching Stephens as part of a corruption and narcotics investigation.

On January 10, 2023, Stephens was charged with felony simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, felony possession of a controlled substance, and a misdemeanor speeding count.

On October 25, 2023, Stephens pleaded guilty to felony possession of hydrocodone and was given a 6-year suspended sentence. Stephens has surrendered his law enforcement certificate.
