Libyan political scientist Abdulsalam Hamtoun wants to find out and takes the viewer on a journey through his homeland. His objective: stir hope of change and a new start within the people. Our protagonist searches amid the soot and ashes of the cities for the identity of Libya. He is convinced of the possibility of building a democracy based on universal and cultural worth and the people’s potential to unite. The film reveals the other side of Libya, its amazing cultural richness of the natives, old Greek and Roman cultural sites and the once forgotten urban youths. From the ashes of a country that destroyed by four decades of dictatorship and years of civil war, blooms a functioning democracy supported by a new constitution.
