Today we play a Sicilian Defense, Mengarini Variation - a favourite of Gothamchess, Magnus Carlsen and the illustrious Chess Centurion.

The Sicilian Defense meets the Mengarini Opening Gambit with 2.a3 from the standard Sicilian Defense. This opening gambit is very strong and I have excellent win rates against the Sicilian Defense with the Mengarini variation. This opening gambit leads to a very positionally dominant position in the opening line we play and it's a position that no Sicilian player wants to play...
