🇫🇷 Chevreuse, Château de la Madeleine, Medieval Pearl of Parisian Region, Walking Tour [4K/60fps]

Chevreuse was founded in the 10th century, and celebrated its first millennium of existence in 1980.
Its castle, the Château de la Madeleine, dates back to the 11th century.
Chevreuse is located south of Paris, in the middle of a regional natural park, Parc naturel régional de la haute vallée de Chevreuse.
The river Yvette flows through the area, forming the fertile Vallée de Chevreuse.
It will be an amazing walk through this wonderful famous town.
We will also visit the territory of the medieval castle de la Madeleine, which rises above the town. We will walk along the tributary of the Yvette river, on the banks of which there are tanneries and skin dryers preserved from ancient times.

The deep cellars of the building would communicate underground with the Château de la Madeleine.

This charming promenade is the last testimony to the activity of the goatskin tanneries which, like the mills, were once on the left bank of the Yvette. There are 22 small bridges all different (formerly called planches or ponceaux) thrown over the Yvette canal. They allowed local residents to cross the canal and, beyond, to access the meadows located behind the enclosure, where the natural course of the Yvette flows. The great tradition of chevrotin tanners which died out in 1962, all that remains today is the 17th century skin dryer, now converted into a cultural centre.
