Kids Comedy Camp at The Crow - Parent & Child Testimonials!

CROW Comedy, Inc – an equity led arts education organization serving communities throughout Los Angeles County, CA believes in the transformative power of comedy and storytelling, especially for children. By using laughter as a tool, we introduce young audiences to diverse perspectives and narratives, fostering a more accepting and empathetic society, while developing their own abilities to share their perspective and directly improve creative and critical thinking, writing, communication and presentation skills.

Kids Comedy Camp at The Crow brings 20+ years of comedy experience, combined with a strong background in running youth day camps and teaching theater in local schools. Focusing on the importance of a child sharing their perspective, The Crow uses stand-up, improv, sketch, and storytelling to help students deepen their understanding of themselves and develop their skills in regard to presenting their true selves to the world. Students practice “being comfortable with the uncomfortable” by testing out comedy writing, being vulnerable on stage, and taking in the feedback of a live audience. This experience helps them prepare for public speaking, with ample opportunity for leadership, team building, and group collaboration. Each program culminates in a live performance for friends and family - directly leading to positive reinforcement for taking a risk and being on stage performing their very own written comedy set. A standing ovation certainly helps these young leaders build the confidence they will need for their future!

Crow Comedy Inc. is a nonprofit 501c3 organization serving artists and cultural communities of all ages by providing education, mentorship, career development, and workshops to foster upward mobility and meaningful relationships. We have comedy and storytelling classes for ages seven to one hundred and seven!! Our educators lean into meeting each student where they are and creating a safe space for everyone to grow, play, develop stronger writing and performance skills, find confidence, and work collaboratively. Throughout history, comedy has been a key player in shaping our culture and society. Comedians are powerful truth-sayers that use stand-up as a way to help share different perspectives and see the world from a new viewpoint. The Crow encourages all students to use comedy as a way to not only strengthen their own perspective, but also to open our minds and hearts to understand other perspectives. The Crow’s programming builds deep and critical thinkers, empathetic team players, and confident presenters - all things a great leader needs!
