Dear Friends,
In this Sunday’s gospel, within the framework of a day spent by Jesus at Capernaum, Mark explores the connection between the miracle-working activity of the Messiah and the awakening of faith.
By means of this account, told graphically and with economy of words in the manner of a newspaper report, St Mark is mainly concerned with teaching us the general significance of the miracle: what he is interested in showing us is that the healing of bodies envisages the healing of hearts and of souls.
