Suzuki Wagon R Smile (MX81S, 2021) wipers

日本では2021年9月に発売されたワゴンRスマイルです。
スライドドアを備える軽乗用車は全高が1,750mmを超える「スーパーハイトワゴン」が主流で、それより低い軽乗用車は1,650mm程度の「ハイトワゴン」になりますが、スライドドアは無くヒンジドア、そして大衆車として廉価を追及していました。
そのちょうど中間の商品性として、全高が1,700mm丁度、スライドドアを備え、廉価版を無くした付加価値型としたのが、2016年に登場した初代ムーヴ・キャンバス(LA800S)です。
ダイハツは常に新しい派生商品を模索しますが、その1つでもあり、2004年のムーヴ・ラテ(L550S)や2008年のムーヴ・コンテ(L575S)に次ぐ商品です。
かわいらしいスタイリングも含めて、当初は「色物」と思われましたが、意外な程のヒットを飛ばし、定着しました。
この手の派生車としては珍しく、同じ商品名で2世代目を継ぐ事が出来、またスズキからはワゴンRスマイル(MX31S)も登場して、盛り上がっています。

This is the 1st generation Suzuki Wagon R Smile, which released in September 2021 in Japan.
In Japan, K-cars with sliding doors are mainly "Super Height Wagon" with a height of over 1,750mm. There are also "Height Wagon" with a lower height of 1,650mm. This "Height Wagon" did not adopted sliding doors, it adopted hinged doors, and pursued a low price as a mass market car.
It is the 1st gen. Daihatsu Move Canbus (LA800S) that appeared in 2016 just in the middle of them. With a height of 1,700mm and adopted with sliding doors, and it is a high value-added product. So that it is also higher price.
Daihatsu is always looking for new derivative products, such as Move Latte (L550S, 2004) and Move Conte (L575S, 2008).
Since Move Canbus has Kawaii styling, it was thought that it would never become mainstreasm. However, it sold surprisingly many, and became established in the market position.
Most of these Kawaii styling cars end in only 1 gen. But Move Canbus continued on to the 2nd gen. And Suzuki also introduced Wagon R Smile (MX31S, 2021). The market is booming.
